Devising multi-market campaigns that use the power of illustration to raise awareness and engage

Problem

Amazon’s Operations division was looking for a digital creative agency that would take its campaigns to a new level. Enter Rhapsody. The multinational tech company tasked us with creating communication and marketing assets designed to recruit talent. Our mission was to produce an engaging and aspirational creative concept that would raise awareness, drive applications and generate a diverse talent pool.

Solution

Rhapsody agency looked at Amazon’s previous projects and decided to go down a new route. We pitched a campaign idea that would deliver the message in a fresh, exciting way using eye-catching illustrations. We therefore commissioned renowned illustrator Dan Matutina, who is known for a futuristic style, to work on the visuals.

Result

We successfully delivered a campaign targeting talent for four separate roles: interns, pathways, graduates and apprenticeships. By using illustration to convey relatable scenarios, we were able to clearly communicate the roles available to candidates. Because the target markets for this campaign were Germany, Spain, CEE, the UK, France, Italy and Luxembourg, we translated the accompanying copy into eight languages.

“Rhapsody was a fantastic partner in helping the Amazon WW Operations Talent Acquisition Marketing team to build a recruitment marketing campaign for our European recent graduate population. From concept to final deliverables, the team maintained excellent levels of communication, flexibility, and quality of work. They were able to deliver under tight timelines, multiple creative outputs and languages, and changes in creative direction. Highly recommended!”

Based on the success of this first project, Amazon then asked Rhapsody to create a paid campaign for Amazon’s apprenticeship recruitment program. Once again, the goal was to find and attract the right candidates by building awareness and driving engagement. Our solution? A creative framework that resonated with audiences across all target markets. We produced the messaging and visuals for social media ads and display ads promoting apprenticeships in the fields of Reliability Maintenance Engineering and IT.

As part of its ongoing work with Amazon, Rhapsody has created a set of brand guidelines for all written and visual deliverables of the multinational’s apprenticeship program. Covering brochures, flyers and more, its purpose is to serve as a framework for future campaigns and creative projects. Not only will it mean that marketing and communication materials remain consistent, but it will also help save time. By putting together a style guide, we have given our client a simple, effective tool that can be used time and time again.
